“The New Queen Of Fantasy”

         Wall Street Journal

Simon Lewis has been a human and a vampire and now he is becoming a Shadowhunter. But the events of the City Of Heavenly Fire left him stripped of his memories, and Simon isn’t sure who he is anymore. He knows he was friends with Clary and that he convinced the total goddess Isabelle Lightwood to go out with him … but he doesn’t know how. So when the Shadowhunter Academy reopens, he throws himself into a new world of demon-hunting, determined to find himself again, rediscover his relationships and ascend as a true Shadowhunter. But he soon realizes that nothing is ever straightforward at the Academy…

My review:

From the other Shadowhunter  Chronicles series, I wasn’t too fond of Simon. He was distracting and kind of brought into this whole new world by accident, however, in this book I learnt more about him. He’s stronger and has an amazing heart, even if he is unsure about it all. His character encourages growth and I found that what he did was heroic as well as the most selfless. From this story, I’d rather be a dreg, an underdog, a Simon Lewis. This story was amazingly written and brought thousands of feelings like happiness, despair, love, another millionth reason to become a Shadowhunter, fulfillment and many other emotions. I highly recommend this book as well as the Shadowhunter Codex if you’re thinking of becoming a Shadowhunter. I’ll write a review on the Codex as well!
